Spring & Summer Teams
Summer hockey is a thing!
For those kids who wish to keep rolling over the summer there are an endless number of camps and clinics across the country. But what about full-ice full-throttle games? The answer is yes; there are plenty of teams and tournaments to join. Some organizations require an application process, some hold tryouts, while others just require you to sign up and show up a-la-cart style. Keep in mind teams are normally mixed skill levels. Hockey is a game. These teams allow kids to have fun without the pressures of a season while still playing competitive hockey. Teams operate across the country. The following are a few we see come to Nashville every summer.
Are these developmental?
For the most part, not so much. While one hopes to gain skill or hockey knowledge with each ice touch, summer teams are geared towards keeping the kids on the ice and having fun. While some teams will get a practice or two before games, others just ask you show up and enjoy the experience. That said, some AAA summer teams do offer development.
