The short answer is absolutely not. While the number of camps and clinics may dwindle, it’s more due to ice availability than a lack of development opportunities. As the leaves begin to fall, house leagues fire back up, travel teams are training, tournaments are in full swing, figure skaters return to competition mode, and beer leagues get going. The fall and winter seasons are actually full of development hockey—it just looks different than it does in the summer. Regardless of your level of play, there are still plenty of ways to get on the ice and continue improving your game.
